About this deal

Paramount are set to release a limited edition, Raiders Of The Lost Ark 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray Steelbook this June in the UK. Raiders of the Lost Ark is getting yet another release on disc, this time a standalone 4K Blu-ray release on June 14th. This is the first time it will be available outside of the Indiana Jones 4K box set and comes in a nifty Steelbook featuring artwork we have seen a bazillion times. It also includes a poster this time, however! Nothing new on the disc, which is a shame. You can see the latest release of Raiders of the Lost Ark below. The level of visible detail in facial features, hair and clothing during close-ups is noteworthy. So many elements came together seamlessly to make this a landmark film. The direction is deft and efficient, with all of Spielberg’s trademark style and flair in evidence, but with little in the way of overindulgence. The pacing is brisk, but not too brisk—not modern, but definitely a new gear for action-adventure films of the period. The cast is perfect across the board, with Harrison Ford coming fully into his own here. He carries the story with an effortlessness that belays how hard he’s actually working. The stunt work is superb, the set pieces are satisfying, the costuming and period production design are pitch perfect. The script is wry, funny, and honest by turns, and always engaging. There are certainly some cultural depictions of their time, but then that’s how creative works are. Still the film has aged beautifully. And John Williams’ iconic score—arguably his best work apart from Star Wars—lends everything a certain kind of magic, gravitas, and energy... and even a bit of whimsy. This is an unquestionably great film, and one that’s withstood the test of time. Paramount's glossy-smooth SteelBook features some classic original artwork on the front, with the film's title situated at the top in familiar script and Within a matter of minutes, we learn a great deal about Harrison Ford's most celebrated character and of the plot's major conflict involving the thieving Belloq (Paul Freeman). As he navigates through an ancient temple of booby traps, the fedora-wearing, bullwhip-snapping Indiana Jones shows that he is as intelligent, cunning and resourceful as he is fallible and culpable, which only makes him all the more endearing. And by the end of the first act, we also learn the filmmakers are aiming for a tonally darker tale than their previous efforts as they introduce Hitler's interest in mysticism and the occult while the Nazis search for the Ark of the Covenant. Yet, Spielberg amazingly keeps things optimistically carefree and riveting as he pays homage to the pulp B-movies of his youth, not only for the sake of nostalgia for that bygone era but also to reintroduce the joy of cinema with a kind of child-like awe." Commandments tablets inscribed by God Himself and brought down from Mount Sinai by Moses. The Ark is said to contain unbelievable powers, whooshes out from the side and the barrage to follow seems to extend from the sides and zip through to the center with remarkable, immersivehub. The inner print is a two-panel spread that depicts Sallah and Indiana Jones hoisting up the golden ark, which is seen prominently, center, against a series' most iconic moments to life as never heard before.
