Great little streamer. Bought mine a week or so ago and am very impressed with it. No DSD or MQA (no great loss at the price), but nice sound quality from its own internal DAC. Brilliant app stability and good interface, no streaming issues and FLAC rips sound great. *Highly* recommended. I also own the new S50 Pro + (released at end of Jan) - again this is just a streamer but now has OLED screen. The USB port only works with storage devices like pen drives and hard drives; I’ve asked the company if it would support playing CDs through a USB drive, but they answered that it is not possible. Despite its modest price point, the A50 is a feisty performer; good for parties, it’s the sonic equivalent of Ouzo. It may be diminutive, but that doesn’t stop it from getting rowdy.The Wi-Fi operation relies on a mobile app 4Stream. The Wi-Fi connection supports 2.4GHz technology only, so on the first setting up, making sure your mobile device used is on a 2.4G band. Once connection established, your mobile device can be on either 2.4G or 5G band to control the App operations. With Volume knob at 1 1/2 my Old Hi-Fi reproduces a real "Wall of Sound". Impressive power and clarity of sound, perfect channel separation, accurate balancing of output for different Instruments and Voices, details and clarity never heard before.
