About this deal

When you remove the earbuds from their charging case, each one will have a small LED that will blink intermittently. Go over to your smartphone or tablet (with Bluetooth-enabled) and select “Free2 Classic” from the list of available nearby connections. With a small tap, they’re good to go and you can now enjoy listening. That said, while it’s noticeable, it didn’t impact usability, and by the way, you can use the buds together or each one on its own.

SoundPEATS Free2 Classic Wireless Earbuds with 30Hrs Playtime

After weeks of testing these earbuds, we found the sound quality to be good in both. Though you can’t adjust the sound quality with an app in either of these Soundpeats earbuds, you can activate ANC in the Mini Pro which will enhance the sound quality a little more than the Free2 Classic. Both earbuds’ touch controls are sensitive. You really must hold the earbud for more than the allotted time to activate the control. For instance, you are supposed to touch the right earbud for 1.5 seconds to move to the next song. We had to hold our finger on the earbud for more than 2 seconds before the song changed. It’s not a big deal but you need to learn how the touch controls work before you start using the earbuds. If not, you will get frustrating using them especially when out for a run or walk. Using the Free2 Classic wireless earbuds for making or receiving a phone call is easy. Tapping either earbud two times will answer an incoming call and automatically pause your music at the same time. The audio quality is acceptable, capable of transmitting clear voice without any noticeable distortion. We tested calls in three seperate instances and each time we had no complaints in regards to the audio quality or wireless transmission.Power On: To automatically power on, open the lid of the charging case and take out both earbuds. To manually power them on, press and hold either side for 1.5 seconds. Timbre: Kato > Free 2 Classic (Kato sounds more correct with vocals by a country mile, but is arguably worse for hip hop as subbass rumble is less) As you can see, there are quite a bit of different functions that can be performed with the touch controls. Unfortunately, we found the touch controls to act up a bit when you’re placing the earbuds within your ears. Naturally, you have to touch the logo area on the exterior of the buds to insert them into your ears. With this, it’s easy to accidently activate certain functions that you wouldn’t necessarily want at that time. It’s not a big deal, but something we think users should be aware of. Honestly, I’ve been surprised by the Free2 Classic at most turns. They maybe don’t deliver a top-end audio experience, but they do deliver a top-level built and comfort. If they had active noise cancellation, I’d be even more keen, but that hasn’t stop them from becoming my daily driver.

SoundPEATS Wireless Earbuds Free2 classic Bluetooth 5.1

In terms of getting these wet when hitting the gym or getting caught in the rain, you won’t have any concern with the Free2 Classics as they come with an IPX4 rating. What this means is it can handle high-pressure water jets or be submerged up to 1 meter deep if you wanted to wear these when swimming. Feature with 6mm bio-compound diaphragm driver, Free2 classic perfectly delivers strong and punchy bass, drags you to the original live show the minute you put them on. With the extra dust-proof metal mesh mics, a clear vocal is also guaranteed. Switching between music enthusiasts and professionals flawlessly. On the other hand, SoundPEATS made their name selling highly affordable wired earphones and headsets that sound good for the price, so I wonder if they can bring that magic over to the Bluetooth side. The one issue you will have with these earbuds though is wind noise. The way the earbuds are designed, if you are outside on a windy day listening to music, you are going to hear noise from the wind in your earbuds. Even if you try to get the tightest fit on the ear tips in your ear, it’s not going to work. We have found this to be common with earbuds that use ear tips. Even when in ANC mode, you will hear the wind.

I’d suggest that the more modern pop songs that have been compressed within an inch of their lives. Coated in that sugary-sweet production, will sound excellent and that’s absolutely fine. The Free2 Classic isn’t about audiophile-levels of quality, but I promise you, you could do far worse for thirty quid. Wireless earbuds are commonplace now, largely thanks to the introduction of the Apple Air Pods (their last actually good innovation?), and I’ve had the pleasure of testing a few sets out over the past couple of years. Now, it’s the turn of the SoundPEATS Free2 Classic. Bassy, v-shape signature, with just enough vocal clarity for me to not mind too much. No peaky treble. Big bass bloat. Great for commute and not much else. Free2 classic does not support to connect to several devices at the same time when they are pairing.
